Shannon 'Bad Bassi' Barriteau's Interview with The Face Behind the Brand
I've always been a rhythmic person. When I was eight years old, I wanted to play drums in my school band. Unfortunately, because I was a girl I was placed in fife classes. I discovered bass when I was eleven years old on YouTube and decided that bass was the instrument for me.
I received my first bass in 2009 on Christmas Day. I took formal bass lessons for three years until I went away to college. I picked up bass again in 2016. In 2018 I started posting videos on Facebook in forums which was instrumental in my musical journey. In 2019, I joined International Women in Reggae as their bassist.
I'm very proud of the work that I've done so far. I've only started my journey and I'm looking to do more. I want to challenge myself continuously and hone my skills to become the musician that I've wanted to be.
